About the BANSHEE Award: If you hear the terrifying scream of a Banshee, there will most likely be a tragic death in your house... UnderWorlds Film Fest's newest award will use this classic horror trope to warn our audience of social injustices and the dark side of human nature. The Banshee’s scream is monstrous; it's something no one wants to hear or talk about. It is a reminder that we have to deal with our problems or they will consume us. The Banshee Award will go to the film that uses its monstrous scream to start conversations we are afraid to broach.
